SUDDEN CHANGE FROM SENTUL!!! WTF????!!!!???


from the initial planning me and tekno tuner had 4 weeks to prepare for the next race... that should be enough for rebuild, respray, suspension retune, practice, redesign new cooling system, etc... BUT sentul decided to move the race schedule forward! WTF!!! by 2 weeks... so now we only got 2 weeks all of sudden... and the race happen to be held on one of the biggest public holiday period (1 week of ramadan). we have the clear agenda since the beginning of the year and they just change it 2 weeks before the event... WTF???


initial schedule:

23rd Sept 2011 - official practice, i will do the practice in sentul and fly straight to Bali for my wedding event, ticket has been purchased. and i will fly back late at night after the event finish, by catching the last flight to jakarta.


24th Sept 2011 - QTT (qualifying time trial), i will start early, and just do the QTT until we got 1:54-1:55 which will give us enough to start at 3rd position based on last race record... then rush back to the airport to fly back to bali to cover another wedding event... (which i already bought the ticket for me, and also 2 of my photographers will fly to bali earlier to cover the morning event)


25th Sept 2011 - the race day, i will be catching the earliest flight, 6am back to Jakarta, then rush to sentul, then race begin around 10am...




THEN SENTUL CHANGE THE RACE TO 9th, 10th, 11th Sept 2011!!!!!


So here is my loss:

1. the preparation time is down to 2 weeks, which 1 week is useless coz everyone is on ramadan holiday, and no shop is open... so basically we only got 1 week.

2. i wasted 4 return tickets of jakarta - bali

3. some of the parts we ordered won't arrived by then


this changes everything!!!!

the replacement engine is found in Bandung, supplied by Andrew Gearhead... M20B25 imported from singapore... paid $850USD for complete engine with loom... sorry for no photos as i am in australia at this time and indra was too lazy to take photos *smack*

have another alignment done on my micra... nothing new, just set it back to the setting i had on the last trackday... the setting was only changed slightly which mean it is quite stable...

FRONT RIGHT Camber -3.17
FRONT LEFT Camber -3.37

FRONT LEFT TOE -0.5mm
FRONT TOTAL TOE -0.9mm

REAR RIGHT TOE +4.2mm

that reminded me i need to get adjustable panhard rod...

Photoshoot day with EXE-Crew

i have nothing personal against cyclist... its just some of them got on my nerve when they are on the road... like get ahead of you on the traffic only to slow the traffic down and make you miss the green light... they cut you off as they please and whenever i did the same to them, they make a big fuss of it... doesnt indicate when changing lane o_O almost made my heart stop... and one morning i woke up, and face my biggest nightmare... i met the LOT of them...

i bought Gopro off ebay, with extra Screen at the back which made it alot easier to use and aim the camera...

this photos i found was taken in March 2011... the 2nd time i met Mr. Indra Santoso, the Chief of Tekno Tuner, after our initial meet in February at E30 Register Presidential Election Day... i was shopping parts for my E30 and he was shopping parts for his clients... we had a long talk, but at that time i never thought i would ended up being one of his close friends and being sponsored for this build...

Dead M20B28... RIP 'Lara Djonggrang' Engine







for an engine that was built in 15 hours on our first debut race (was built overnight to replace the original engine that was blown due to the previous workshop grinding the rocker arm), this 240 HP beast has lasted 45 racing laps, and 56 practice laps...





on low budget amatuer race team like us, we don't really have a spare engine ready, so any blow like this cause us to having to rebuilt again from scratch... what we are lacking in money and resource, we made it up in skills, persistence and hard work...





as i mention on previous post, due to the timing belt tensioner bolt snapped off, now the engine is blown... we took it off the car for further inspection of what we can salvage and planning on what we will do next...
