Squat a little bit lower aye?

Squat a little bit lower aye?

Thx to 'Dens' (Christophe) for the K-Sport Coilover... it comes with pillow ball head, top knuckle bolt camber adjustment (little bit), adjustable height for the base knuckle and spring purge for front and adjustable spring mount for rear. also damper adjustable too...

Yay!!! :)

abit of top camber adjusment :P

front installation...

put it to max negative camber... still need abit more... might get camber bolts later (looking at tom)

my rear left stock strut is dead... push both of them and one push back up after a while while the other one remain the same length... i dunno if thats normal...

rear installed...

POSING TIME!!! :D its sat abit lower at the front... but has raised the front abit since... :)

Grill? what grill?

LSD and 4.1 final Drive

i couldn't afford the expensive aftermarket LSD for 325i E30 so i decided to get a 2nd hand factory LSD from other BMW Diff... after all its better than no LSD at all...

pick it up for $400AUD shipped...

also i got the 4.1 final drive.... its the cheapest way to get more performance over the stock dying engine... i got it for $250AUD shipped...

here are my rough 'oh so un-leet' calculation using the gear calculator to predicts the max speed differences every gear after the final drive been replaced...

AFM and the broken rubber boot

the car start idling funny.... so i prey open the AFM and fiddles with it... not that i know what i am doing but i do it by marking the original spot then move it to the right till it cannot idle and mark that as one end and turn it the other way until it idles smooth but cannot rev more than 2500rpm and mark it as the other end.... so the rough tune should be in between those 2 ends...

i know its not accurate but it works... hahaha
then just need to reseal the cover of the AFM PCB...

and the AFM rubber boot has leaks where it connects to the idle up causing the rough idle when the aircond on and stuck on traffic for hours... also it has alot of cracks where the clamps were...

so ordered a 2nd one from ebay for $40 and fix that right up... noticed that i used a electrical tape for temporary fix and it melts hahaha

Radiator Hose

on the way driving to bandung (city next to jakarta), one of the radiator hose split and coolant bursting out of creating a mist / fog on my windshield at around 150kmh... Very Happy

anyway... i was lucky to have a lift from the car passing by to get dropped off to the nearest servo to get a new coolant, hi-temp sealant, duct tape and plumbers tape... walking back is a pain, as highway is one way... and i cant cross it to get a lift from the other side.... so i walked aroun 20 km but the good thing is the car has cool down when i got there.... so i did temporary fix it with plumbers tape, then sealant, then duct tape... and keep topping up the coolant while driving slowly (40-60kmh)

got the hose that i needed near bandung and replaced it right away....

ANOTHER BAD OMEN :O

well... my aircond is not blowing cold air anymore... just hot air... so i bring it to the AC Specialist and they said no more gas inside... which was weird as i just regassed it last month... so i told him to regassed it again... costed me $12 and 2 days later, it stop blowing cold air again! so definitely a leak in the system somewhere...

so i bring to the AC specialist and they told me i need new compressor coz its leaking... they want $300 for it... plus $60 labour... pissed and confused, i told them i will do it later, trying to give myself time to think... i dont think compressor just died without any sign of weaker supply...

so i was planning to buy a 2nd hand compressor, so i decided to take the compressor off... but then i found that the inlet coupling is worn...

so i thought this might be the source of leaks...

so i bring my car to another AC specialist (abit further from the first one i went) and show the the worn thread and lip, its appeared that the previous person cross thread it and the aluminum coupler has been paired with a custom steel one from the main hose... causing the thread to be damaged... so i ask him how much is the:
1. replacement inlet coupler for the compressor
2. new coupler for the hose and the pressed clamps...

he quote me:
$8 for the house press clamps and coupler
$13 for the compressor side coupling (take from toyota kijang appearently its the same bolt patterns, just different coupling direction)

$12 for regassing... again...
labour included... total around $33AUD

phew... it is clear that the first place i went were lazy and just want a quick fix thus asking me forking out $300 for a replacement compressor. its like me having a stomach ache and they want me to implant new intestine. Sad

i dont mind paying for replacement compressor if its broken... but if they are just too lazy to find exactly where it leaks, that pissed me off...

EXE CREW PHOTOSHOOT - June 2009

my first attempt doing motion chase car shot. quite happy with the result altho using a rig made up next next time will create lower and better angles without the danger... :) because hanging at the back of a car taking photos isn't the safest way :P
